Does anyone know of any Italian websites in Abruzzo selling bread ovens for the garden. The idea being that you buy a clay dome and cooking base, then build a housing of your choice around it etc etc.

Any of the places selling fireplaces etc will likely have the basics. Or do you really want to buy mail order?

I think most people have moved to the metal ovens. Either stand alone or built in.

The more basic masonary ovens are cheaper to start with but require more labour and material so I don't think they end up much if any cheaper. The stand alones can be just dropped into an empty part of the garden. The built in metal ones are cheaper but you then end up spending money building the base etc. Just like the fully masonary.

There is a style choice. The metal ovens keep the combustion gases away from the food. I don't remember the English word for this type. White oven? The masonary ovens allow the smoke etc to get close to the food.

This one seems to have decent ovens, say's they are ideal for bread, pizza and roasts.
