Has anyone received their ICI notification letter late this year as we still haven't had any notification from our Comune (Montefino) in writing to say it's due for payment.  We were here in June and the letter hadn't arrived then and now we're here again in July and still there's no letter.  We will be going to see the Comune office to get what's owed and complain about not receiving any notification.  Chap at post office says we will still have to pay a fine for late payment.

We don't receive a letter, its up to us to remember to go to the comune to get the bill made (CMR)
I have no idea whether this is typical

As far as I know (we are resident so don’t pay ICI anymore) they do not send out bills or letters and it is up to you to pay the ICI in June and December. The fine for late payment is not very big especially as from what you say, you will only be a couple of months late.

Agree with Levi - I wouldn't worry about a potential fine, they are small. I've paid ICI late myself a few times, due to not being there. Good to ask them though where your letter is - I think mine arrived as usual and was paid before the end of June (my friend does it for me). Montefino comune.

Quoted from ArsitaExchange
What is ICI?

ICI is the Italian equivalent to the Council Tax in the UK.

Berlisconi abolished it for residents except for certain categories of house – those with a high rate. It is also still payable on second homes so people who are non resident must pay it on their holiday homes.

It is paid twice a year in June and December and as far as I am aware it is up to you to calculate what you owe and remember to pay it.
