We're moving shortly near to Bisenti/Castiglione MR and will be applying for residency. Does anyone know how we join the Italian health service? have heard some communes (so presume you register at the commune?) charge about 700euors each, but this seems cheaper than private insurance, so happy to pay it - if we know how to! Any advice gratefully received! A

Does anyone know about the Ticks in this country. ( not the nervous kind, the blood sucking ones!) I found one on me, and my partner managed to pull it out with tweezers (all of it)
But, I was speaking to a local, who said he had also had one on him a while ago, and went to the doctor who removed it, and gave him a shot and cream and antibiotics! It semmed a little over the top to me? But i dont know how dangerous these little suckers are. I know that they can carry disease sometimes , but was under the impression it was rather rare. Should I be worried ?. I feel fine!
