Hello everyone

I've just had a late cancellation on my Low Intermediate Italian course being held in Pacentro from 13 to 17 September. I'd really like to fill the space to make language activities more productive, so I'm offering it at half price (£150 sterling). Maybe there's someone who is near enough to travel who would like to join us? Or for someone coming over from the UK, I can help find accommodation. There will be 20 hours' tuition - 0900 to 1300 each day.

Have a look at my website - http://www.italianforyou.co.uk - and get in touch if you would like to talk about it further. See below for best way to contact me.

For those of you already in Italy my number is: 3406855953

For those of you in the UK, the number is 07900 890 175

Many thanks and best wishes
Susan

I am really trying with my Italian and I’d like to ask a question. Is it better to concentrate on pronunciation or grammar?

Sometimes I’m pretty sure I have got the words right but no one understands me.

Is there anyone out there with a knowledge of art, and Italian, who can tell me what the Italian word is for a 'monoprint'?
I am labelling my artwork for the sale on Sunday.
I have, from a very reliable source, what a 'print' is......'stampa'....that being a print made on a computer etc of an original artwork, drawing, painting etc.
But I need the word for an original print, i.e. a one-off print, made on a hand press.
I suppose I could just call it an original artwork, but feel it needs to be explained a little more.

I'm always surprised when new English words added to the dictionary are adopted by other countries, I always chuckle at Welsh language TV programmes when they insert the word 'Computer' into their dialogue.

Looks like the Italians are doing it to, here's a snippet from Monday's edition of La Repubblica:

L'auto gioca da qualche anno al downsizing.
